Add An Endorsement

Teachers who already hold a Vermont educator’s license (Level I or Level II) can add an endorsement with TAP through a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP). This self-paced contract involves a classroom observation from a TAP faculty member and a content-area mentor. Upon completion of the PLP, TAP issues a recommendation which candidates then submit to the Vermont Agency of Education in order to add the new endorsement.

Do you already hold a Vermont educator’s license?  Looking to add an endorsement?  TAP’s Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) process is a self-paced, affordable pathway to add an endorsement.

Cost: $1500.00

What is included:

  • A Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) to document your proficiency in this new endorsement area
  • Mentor stipend to offer support in curriculum and lesson planning and to conduct at least one formal observation
  • An observation from a TAP faculty member to provide structured feedback and take video footage of your teaching
  • Virtual or in-person check-ins with TAP faculty to guide your collection of evidence and your progress on the PLP

Requirements:

  • Must hold a current Vermont educator license in an endorsement which requires meeting Vermont’s Core Teaching Standards
  • Must be seeking a K-12 specialty endorsement (Music, Ed Tech Specialist Art, PE, Health, Multilingual Learners, Modern & Classical Languages) OR a middle/high school endorsement
  • Must have the required credits in the new endorsement area or be prepared to complete additional studies/coursework needed to qualify for the new endorsement area.
This process was very eye opening. I thought that it really made me analyze all aspects of my teaching. I really got to dig in and improve on my teaching craft.
